Pampa has been busy growing lots of vegetables on his allotment and last weekend he gave us 3 pumpkins. We don’t celebrate Halloween so instead Cakie and Pops painted them and decorated them just for fun!
We used some nice autumnal colours and some golden glitter paint.
And smothered it all over.
C used one of our new chunky paintbrushes and found it really easy to manipulate.
Then the sparkly goodness began. Some PVA glue and a jam-jar full of sequins!
Let the decorating commence!
Beauty.
This is going to sit in the middle of our table as a decorative ornament for Autumn!
Not to be outdone, Little Pop decided it was time she got in on all the fun too.
Chewing the paintbrush (thankfully at the wrong end) was extremely enjoyable, apparently.
She managed to get some onto the pumpkin too! The rest she smeared in with her fingers. What a lot of fun!
Her finished masterpiece! Ta da!
“Painted Pumpkin” by Little Pop, aged 6 months and 3/4
The third pumpkin I made into pumpkin puree and used it to make some pumpkin and cinnamon cupcakes with cream cheese frosting (Recipe from The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook.) Delish!

Very pretty craft. I think it’s great too that you let your very little one get involved!
These are so wonderful. I love the glitter and ornaments. We used fingerpaint to decorate pumpkins too.
A very pretty pumpkin, I am sure your table will look beautiful with it in place of pride 🙂
Who would think that a sparkly pumpkin could look so special. I don’t think I would ever even think to paint a pumpkin.
I love these – a great take on pumpkins so even the youngest can join in. Thanks for sharing with us at the Play Academy.
fun fun fun! Will be trying this for sure!
