One of my favourite places to “create” when setting up my classroom was the reading or book corner. The children always loved to lounge on cushions flicking through the pages of their favourite books and chatting to their friends about the pictures and potential story-lines. Obviously I haven’t got a classroom space at home (oh how I wish I did!), but as we are still decorating and haven’t bought all our furniture yet, I thought we could transform a little corner of the living room into a book corner for Cakie.
One blanket, 2 cushions, 1 bean-bag and a basket filled to the brim with little board books later…and Cakie immediately settled into her new little area and claimed it as her own!
We all need a special place to read!
