Easter Egg Pebble Craft

April 18, 2019 by Anna Ranson

Make a super simple yet beautiful invitation to create with nature and make this Easter Egg Pebble Craft together!

Perfect for a range of ages (including adults!) to make gorgeous decorations or gifts for Spring.Make an Easter Egg Pebble Craft!

We LOVE crafts and play activities that use materials from nature as they truly produce the most beautiful results!

We’ve been at the beach in Cornwall this week and have loved playing and creating using natural materials as much as possible. Since it’s nearly Easter we decided to go hunting for oval shaped, flat pebbles on the beaches and to decorate them as Easter Eggs!

We’ve done LOTS of pebble decorating over this years and you’ll find plenty of examples of pebbles being decorated for play and also for learning activities in the archives.

They’re SUCH a versatile resources and just brilliant as a loose parts material for simply counting, sorting and using during play.

After we found some suitably shaped pebbles we simply decorated them using these chalk markers. We’ve tried quite a few brands over the years and these seem to last the longest and produce the most vibrant results.

For a more fine and detailed result you should try these paint pens which we’ve used in previous pebble decorating posts.

I absolutely love the designs that they came up with!

Spots, stripes, zig-zags, waves, blocks of colour, small dots, cross, leaves and flowers were all in the mix. I love how differently they all turned out. I also really enjoyed getting creative and painting alongside them!Easter Egg Pebble Craft for Kids

So, how could you use this Easter Egg Pebble Craft?

Simply set them out as part of Easter decorations. Use them as place markers for a special meal together.

Write people’s names on the back as give them as a gift.

Write something else special as a message and hide them for strangers to find at the park or on the beach!easter egg pebble craft

Have your child or others collect them as part of an Easter Egg hunt as an alternative gift idea to go alongside the chocolates!

Use them in learning and play. Children could create a huge amount and sort them by colour or pattern, order them by size or simply use them to count with.

Set them out with toy bunnies and let them play an Easter imaginative play game!

I love the idea of decorating with the Easter Egg Pebble art and as soon as we are home we will put them on the mantlepiece and table ready for some celebrations this weekend!
