Sparkly Pumpkins!

Pampa has been busy growing lots of vegetables on his allotment and last weekend he gave us 3 pumpkins. We don’t celebrate Halloween so instead Cakie and Pops painted them and decorated them just for fun!

We used some nice autumnal colours and some golden glitter paint.

And smothered it all over.

C used one of our new chunky paintbrushes and found it really easy to manipulate.

Then the sparkly goodness began. Some PVA glue and a jam-jar full of sequins!

Let the decorating commence!

This is going to sit in the middle of our table as a decorative ornament for Autumn!

Not to be outdone, Little Pop decided it was time she got in on all the fun too.

Chewing the paintbrush (thankfully at the wrong end) was extremely enjoyable, apparently.

She managed to get some onto the pumpkin too! The rest she smeared in with her fingers. What a lot of fun!

Her finished masterpiece! Ta da!

The third pumpkin I made into pumpkin puree and used it to make some pumpkin and cinnamon cupcakes with cream cheese frosting (Recipe from The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook.) Delish!
