These were really simple to make and formed one of the activities at Cakie’s fairy party last week.
My patient hubby sawed some bamboo canes in half and sprayed them with silver spray paint.
I cut some (very!) basic star shapes from shiny gold and silver card. ( Can I just add, for the record, that I can really cut stars much better than this! but was, as is typical to me, in a major rush! Ha!)
On the day the children chose a star shape and spread gloopy glue all over it, then sprinkled with copious amounts of flower and butterfly sequins!
They left them to dry for half an hour and then we simply taped the shapes to the ends of the wands.
And we were turned into frogs and all manner of creepy crawlies as soon as they started playing! Easy, simple and very cheap to do. Cakie is still playing with hers and turned it into a pirate sword yesterday, challenging me to a duel. That’s my girl! 🙂
